Frequently asked questions

Can I turn it off?

There's no off switch on the phone. You remove Finite Phone on your account page. It comes off the phone 48 hours later. You can change your mind any time before then. A factory reset also removes it right away, and erases everything on the phone.

We won't shorten the 48 hours, even if you write to us.

Cancelling your subscription is separate. It stops the renewal. When your paid year ends, Finite Phone comes off the phone 48 hours later.

In your first 24 hours after setup, removal doesn't wait 48 hours. It happens the next time your phone checks in with Finite Phone, usually within 15 minutes, or right away if you open the Finite Phone app.

How do refunds work?

Email support@finitephone.com within 30 days of your first payment. You don't need to give a reason. We refund the full payment, once per customer. A refund also ends your subscription.

What if your servers go down?

Your phone keeps every block, even through a restart, and nothing you asked to unblock comes back while our servers are down.

How does Finite Phone block apps and websites?

Setup makes Finite Phone the phone's device owner, the Android role made for managing work phones. That lets it hide the apps you block and apply your website blocks to the browser. Your lock screen then says the phone belongs to Finite Phone, Settings says it's managed by Finite Phone, and Android adds its own note that an admin may be able to see your data. What Finite Phone receives is listed in our Privacy Policy.

Does it work on a phone with a work profile or a second user?

No. Setup won't finish while the phone has a work profile, a private space, a guest or a second user. It names the one it finds and shows how to remove it. A phone your employer manages won't work.
